How do I get (activate) my BUnetID?
When you receive your account activation letter with your BUnetID and activation code, go to our Account Activation Website (link below) to activate your account. International Students should go to the Graduate School office to obtain your account activation letter. In the activation process, you will be required to answer two secret questions for future security purposes. You will also be asked to create a password for verification when you access your account(s) on campus. Be very cautious in choosing a password and never share your password with your friends. Following are guidelines for choosing a password. If you lose your activation letter, you can go to Morgan Hall room 205 to request another. You must provide a government-issued photo ID to receive an activation letter.
You can manage your BUnetID through Bradley's MyBU portal. Your BUnetID password will expire every 90 days and you will be directed to the portal to change your password. For complete instructions to manage your BUnetID and password, visit the Technology HelpDesk Account Management website.

B-Mail is a Google-based electronic mail client, providing more than 2GB of storage space, improved organization features, calendar options to organize your schedule and share events with your family and friends, a one-click chat, and many more exciting new features.
Your B-Mail address is yourBUnetID@mail.bradley.edu. You will automatically be set up with a B-Mail account when you activate your BUnetID. You can access your B-Mail through the MyBU portal or through any web browser at mail.bradley.edu. You are responsible for all official correspondence received via your B-Mail account. It is strongly suggested that you check this account on a regular basis.
Sakai allows instructors to easily build online courses and develop community oriented portal environments for all users for any subject without knowing HTML or other programming languages. Instructors and students can access Sakai anytime, anywhere. The "Preparing Course Sites" in Sakai tip sheet will give faculty a check list for preparing a course for the start of the semester. Faculty and Students can use the Overview of Help Topics to become familiar with the tools in Sakai.

Will it be necessary to bring my own computer when I am on campus? The Cullom Davis Library has a public lab with laptops, Windows and Macintosh desktop computers available for your use.

All students, faculty/staff and Alumni qualify for these exceptional discounts. An on-site service option is available if your purchase your computer through our Dell website. Wireless connectivity is available in many locations on campus including the library. We recommend an 802.11a/b/g compatible wireless card. Ethernet cards for Macintosh systems vary. Contact your local Macintosh Sales representative for advice before purchasing your card.
XP (Professional or Home) and Vista are the preferred operating systems.
We recommend MS Office 2003 or 2007, which includes Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook, Access and Office Tools applications that are used routinely in classes (journeyEd offers Microsoft Office Professional for $85 to Bradley students - this is a savings of over $400).
Bradley recommends that you make responsible decisions about how you use technology. In the Student Handbook is the Policy on Ethical Use of Information Technology Resources. Infractions of this policy or others governing use of technology resources can result in sanction of privileges. Please make responsible choices. Cullom-Davis Library The Cullom-Davis Library offers resources in paper, on microfilm or microfiche, and in electronic formats. Library staff are continually working to expand access to resources in all formats. Through our consortial agreements, the Bradley community has access to the holdings of 65 libraries in Illinois, including the University of Illinois. These resources can be delivered to you in a reasonable amount of time. Staff are available to assist you in learning how to do research and how to find the information in the library. The Library also houses a computer lab for use by all Bradley students, faculty and staff regardless of major. It has extensive hours and offers both PC and Macintosh computers, as well as a scanner.
Instructional Technology and Media Services (ITMS) ITMS is a comprehensive media facility within Information Resources & Technology. ITMS offers assistance to the University community through seven service areas: Audio Visual Services, Audio/Video Production, Duplicating, Graphics, Instructional Technology Assistance Center (ITAC), Mediated Classrooms, Photography and Videoconferencing.
Instructional Technology Assistance Center (ITAC) ITAC will help you make the most of technology to enhance teaching and learning. ITAC provides instructional design assistance and training. ITAC staff can also help faculty, staff and students use technology for creating web-enhanced and asynchronous course resources, video conferencing, desktop video conferencing, digital video capturing and compressing, streaming video, and electronic presentations.
